Dr. Candace Giles received her undergraduate degree from McMaster University where she earned her Bachelor of Kinesiology (Honours) as well as a minor in psychology. Her education continued at Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College for four more years, earning a Doctor of Chiropractic. She is certified in full body Active Release Technique (ART), Graston and is a Medical Acupuncturist. Dr. Giles uses a variety of treatment techniques including manipulation, kinesiotape, ART™, Graston™, acupuncture, therapeutic ultrasound, cold laser therapy and functional rehabilitation. She has a special interest in treating the shoulder as well as TMJ disorders. She utilizes an evidence-based approach to help patients restore function and health. Dr. Giles focuses on using the body's own healing ability to achieve superior results in order to help take the pain away to keep it away.
Dr. Jennifer O'Shea graduated as a Doctor of Chiropractic from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. Prior to her doctorate degree, she obtained her Honours Bachelor of Science at the University of Toronto studying Biology and Psychology. Spending essentially her entire life growing up in Burlington, she is ecstatic about being back and active in the Burlington community. She feels very fortunate to have found a career that allows her to use her passion for helping others to make a difference in people's lives.
After a thorough history and physical exam, Dr. Jennifer O'Shea designs individualized treatment plans in an effort to improve her patient's overall function and health. She offers contemporary medical acupuncture (with or without electrical stimulation), ART®(Active Release Techniques®), instrument assisted soft tissue therapy, mobilizations, manipulation/adjustments, electrotherapies, low level laser, therapeutic ultrasound, taping, nutritional advice and rehabilitation. Dr. O'Shea believes in empowering her patients through educating them on their specific conditions and actively involving them in their recovery process with the prescription of rehabilitative exercises. As a proud mom of one (so far...) Dr. O'Shea is passionate about caring for moms-to-be and beyond. She would be honoured to care for you through your pregnancy and post-partum journey!
Raphael graduated from McMaster University with an Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology degree in 2013 and from Queen’s University with a Master of Science in Physiotherapy in 2016. His experiences exposed him to diverse clinical settings which ranged from private practice, sports clinics, and hospital care. These experiences taught him to successfully treat chronic/acute conditions which range from work-related to sport injuries to any musculoskeletal injury. His treatment philosophy includes using manual therapy to restore joint mechanics followed by muscle retraining and motor control strategies to correct movement dysfunction. Raphael provides individualized, one-on-one treatment and develops exercise programs geared toward the level and goals of the patient. He is excited to meet you and lead you towards a stronger healthier you!
Sarah graduated with honours from the Canadian Therapeutic College in 2007. She has completed additional training in Advanced Myofasical Release, Rhythmic techniques, Chinese Cupping massage, Hot Stone Massage and Structural Integration. Sarah believes in the power of preventative care and enjoys being part of a team that has the ability to utilize many techniques to resolve any dysfunctions in the body. She looks forward to helping patients achieve their goals, whether it is relaxation or treatment of acute and chronic injuries. She is enjoying educating clients on doTERRA® essential oils which Appleby Total health is now carrying. Sarah enjoys treating all ages from babies to the elderly and enjoys working with athletes.
Olga graduated from Trillium College in 2011.
Experienced in Swedish Massage, she combines the use of Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release and Joint Mobilization to optimize your treatment.
Olga uses a variety of techniques ranging from deep tissue massage to gentle relaxation and experienced in treating sport injuries and prenatal massage.
Joanna is a registered massage therapist and fourth-year Bachelor of Health Science student. She has taught musculoskeletal anatomy and kinesiology at the West Coast College of Massage and Hydrotherapy and continues to teach short courses in the Greater Hamilton and Toronto Areas (cramn.ca). Originally from Hamilton, she moved for a number of years to British Columbia, where she founded and ran a multidisciplinary clinic in Metro Vancouver. She returned to Ontario in the summer of 2020 and now treat patients part-time in Burlington.
Joanna’s manual approach is rooted in deep tissue and myofascial work with advanced stretching techniques and nerve work as needed. Her treatments are generally moderate to very deep pressure combined with a fluid flow. She likes to address clinical issues while providing a deeply relaxing treatment.
Common conditions Joanna treats include chronic pain, repetitive strain and other injuries (e.g., false sciatica, thoracic outlet, carpal tunnel, double crush syndromes, soft tissue nerve impingements), as well as people whose nervous systems are in overdrive—those experiencing high stress, adrenal fatigue, anxiety, depression, and PTSD.
Amanda Sciberras is a graduate from Trillium College (formerlyCanadian Therapeutic College) with honors in 2011. Amanda performs several techniques from General Swedish Massage, Myofascial Trigger points, fascial work, lymphatic drainage,scar release, and craniosacral therapy. She has taken specific courses in pelvic health (including but not limited to pregnancy and postpartum issues, aiding with pelvic pain and incontinence issues), Neurokinetic Therapy level 1, as well as PIPS training, and treating TMJD.
Amanda was a professional ballet teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance from 1994-2020.
She is an active member of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, and a member of Registered Massage Therapists’ Association of Ontario.
Stephanie attended the University of Guelph, where she obtained an Honours Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics, providing her a strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology and nutrition. Stephanie furthered her education in the area of Nutrition and obtained a Registered Holistic Nutritionist designation from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition (CSNN). Since then she has helped people of all ages change their lifestyle in order to reach and maintain their personal weight loss and overall health goals. Stephanie strives to help her clients lead a healthier, more active and vibrant lifestyle. Her goal is to provide her clients with the nutritional knowledge & tools necessary to create a healthy balanced diet and a state of overall well being.
